Thanks to Voters, Kennedy Wins Re-Election In a Landslide
Incumbent Suffolk County Legislator John M. Kennedy Jr. won re-election with 83 percent of the vote. Kennedy, who ran on the Republican, Democratic and Working Families lines, received 7,593 votes. Vincent Trimarco Jr., the challenger who lost to Kennedy in the September Republican Party primary, continued his campaign on the Conservative and Independence lines and received 1,549 votes or 17 percent.
Overwhelming Support Helped Kennedy to Primary Win
In the days prior to the primary, Legislator Kennedy received support from key law enforcement and public safety organizations, as well as the Long Island Voters Forum, the Long Island Environmental Voters Forum and the Suffolk County Association of Municipal Employees.
