JUNE 28
A Letter from Legislator John M. Kennedy Jr.
Suffolk County Legislator John M. Kennedy announced the launch of his re-election campaign this week with a letter to voters in the 12th District, which appeared in newspaper advertisements and on his official campaign website:
Neighbors,
It is an honor and privilege to represent the 12th District in the Suffolk County Legislature. In the three years since I took office, I have worked to provide real solutions to the issues, while holding the line on taxes and improving quality of life.
We have made significant progress – passing legislation to track the movement of twice as many sex offenders, supporting measures to curb the proliferation of illegal immigrants, and preserving more than 100 acres of environmentally sensitive lands.
Still, there is more to be done.
This year, I face re-election and a primary for the Republican Party nomination, but in order to continue helping the people of the 12th District and all of Suffolk County, I need your help to return me to office.
My petitions are currently being circulated. If you see one, please sign it. Then, cast your vote for me in the Republican Party Primary on Tuesday, September 18.
This is our time to unite, to work toward real solutions that go beyond the headlines and the photo opportunities.
This is our time to work towards practical legislation that protects our children and families, our environment and our way of life.
This is our time to pass laws that work on the streets and in the courts – not just on paper.
This is our time to stand up against the political bullies and party bosses who make the backroom deals that put their own special interests and personal agendas ahead of the people.
This is your time to vote for real results.

Sincerely,

John M. Kennedy Jr.
